Arjuna Award and Padma Shri Award winner, Bombayla Devi Laishram is an Indian Archer from Imphal, Manipur. Born on 22nd February 1985 in a sports interested family, her mother, M Jamini Devi is a local Archery coach and her father, Manglem Singh is the Head coach of the state Handball team. A veteran of three Olympic Games and a winner of 13 Archery World Cup medals, Devi started her journey in archery in the year 1997 and made her International Debut in the year 2006. She got her first break in the National team in 2006 and went to her first international competition at the 1st Asian Archery Championship in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The next year, Bombayla came back with an individual gold in the recurve event at the Asian Archery Grand Prix in Isfahan, Iran, in 2007. Bombayla Devi Laishram received Arjuna Award in the year 2012 and was bestowed with the Padma Shri in 2019.
