Indian Judoka and constable in Indo-Tibetan Border Police

Born in the year 1989, Thoudam Kalpana Devi is an Indian Judoka from Imphal, Manipur. At an early age of 9, Devi won a silver medal in the Sub-Junior National Championship followed by four gold medals at the Junior National Championships. Devi also bagged a gold medal at the Asian Junior Judo Championship. In September of the year 2010, she won the bronze medal in the Women’s World Cup Judo Championships held in Uzbekistan. She made India win its very first bronze in World Grand Prix Tashkent, held in Uzbekistan. In the Commonwealth Games at Glasgow, 2014 in 52 kg weight category, she won a bronze medal after defeating Zarifa Sultonova of Uzbekistan.
