Poultry Feed

Poultry feed is used by farmers as feed for poultry birds. Modern feeds are produced by precisely selecting and blending ingredients to provide highly nutritional diet that maintains both the health of the poultry birds and improve the quality of end products such as meat and eggs. India has 1.23 billion people and the number is growing every year. The focus is on “Development”, meaning good food, better health & living conditions for everyone. People spend more money on food when they earn more. Healthy food at attractive price will therefore be the issue in focus. Eggs and chicken are accepted by almost all communities and is available across the country at reasonable prices. Poultry is the most organised sector in animal agriculture in India. Rise in global population is a key factor, which is expected to boost the poultry feed market growth of the global poultry feed market. This is attributed to the fact that poultry meat demand, and subsequently meat production capacity and supply, has increased to meet the needs of the growing population. Production of broiler meat has increased to 4.2 million tons per annum in 2019-20. Total layer production in India has gone up to reach 80 million eggs per annum. Poultry feed accounts for 58 per cent of the total feed market in India. Poultry feed market to grow by a CAGR of around 6.9% from 2019 to 2023. In the coming years, packaged poultry feed is expected to grow at a higher pace as compared to the traditional poultry feed.
