Railway Sleepers

PSC sleeper refers to steel concrete sleeper, mostly used on railway tracks. Besides Indian Railways, power plants, refineries and cement plants conjointly use sleepers for rail tracks. Concrete sleeper have various benefits over wooden sleepers because it does not rot like timber sleepers and its weight adds stability to the tracks, notably with  changes in temperature. It can even face fire hazards and has longer life than wooden sleepers.
