There are two categories of fellowships, based on the qualification and experience of the candidates: Category A includes women who are M.D./ M.S./ M.D.S. or MBBS/ BDS/ MVSc./ M.Sc./ M.Pharma/ M.Tech with Ph.D. Category B includes women who are MBBS /BDS or M.Sc. /M.Tech. /M.Pharma with two years of research or clinical experience.

Post Doctoral Fellowship for Women

Brief of the Fellowship

The UGC has initiated a scheme of Post Doctoral Fellowship for Women to those candidates, who are unemployed holding Ph. D. degree in their respective subject areas with an aim to accelerate the talented instincts of the women candidates to carry out the advanced studies and research. The total duration of the fellowship is five years with no provision for further extension. The number of slots available under the scheme is 100 per year.

This scheme provides a research grant which includes the fellowship of the applicant and cost of small equipments, contingencies, travel, consumables etc. It provides a fellowship of Rs. 55 K + HRA as per norms for PhD or equivalent and Rs. 40 K + HRA as per norms for PG in Professional Course (M.Phil./M.Tech/M.Pham, etc).
