My cousin was recently rushed to the hospital with chest pain, and doctors said it might be related to cocaine use. I knew it was risky, but I didn’t realize it could lead to such serious heart problems. Has anyone else experienced or heard of this happening?

Yeah, cocaine is no joke when it comes to the cardiovascular system. A lot of people underestimate how dangerous it is for the heart.

Cocaine has a way of masking danger until it’s almost too late. It’s not just the high blood pressure and rapid heartbeat — it’s the silent strain it puts on the arteries. When I had a scare myself, I started digging into the long-term effects, and what I found shocked me. This article on heart disease and cocaine use lays it out clearly and really made me rethink everything: https://unitedrecoveryproject.com/rehab-blog/heart-disease-and-cocaine-use/. After reading that, I went straight to get checked out and thankfully caught some early warning signs. If your cousin’s already had a medical issue, please take it seriously. Cocaine-induced heart damage can happen fast and unexpectedly, especially if someone’s using regularly. It’s not fear-mongering — it’s physiology.
