Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, has now become a household name, after she earned Silver Medal for India in Tokyo Olympics, 2020 and brought laurels to the nation. A simple and humble women from Imphal, Manipur is an Indian weightlifter, born on August 1994. Chanu has won the World Championships and multiple medals at the Commonwealth Games. She was awarded the Padma Shri and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award by the Government of India for her contributions in sport. Her second biggest achievement was in 2017, when she won the gold medal at World Weightlifting Championships held in Anaheim, United States.
