Hailing from Echali, Upper Dibang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh,Tine Mena is an Indian Mountaineer, who became the first woman from Northeast India & Arunachalee woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest on May 2011. She was born on September 1986. Earlier she used to work as a porter for the Indian Army when she was just 17 years old. Now, her life stories can also be found in the children's website ‘Story Weaver’ by Shikha Tripathi, with the title ‘Tine and The Faraway Mountain’. She is a true inspiration for many youths.
