You are not stuck, you are just calling the wrong type of outfit. What you want is an overnight boat rental company rather than an hourly marina operation – completely different model. They bring the boat to your dock, hand it over with a full tank and the safety gear, and collect it when your dates are up. No five o’clock scramble, no fighting for a slip at sunset. We did exactly this on a canal house near Lauderdale last year and it changed the trip entirely. One thing worth knowing: the good ones book out fast for March, so lock your dates early. Also ask them to walk you through the local no-wake zones during the handover. The canals are full of them and the fines are not small.
